B. pharmacy (B.Pharm)

Duration of Course: 8 semesters (6 months/ semester)

 

Commencement of session: August

Eligibility

Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following – Mathematics / Computer Science / Biotechnology / Biology. Obtained at least 55% marks (50% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. Candidates who have passed D. Pharm course approved by Pharmacy Council of India shall also be eligible to this course and can be admitted directly to II Year.

Age : 17 years and above

Admission Criteria:

  • The admission to B. Pharmacy first year degree course shall be made on the basis of merit of HPCET-2023-24.

  • In case the seats remain vacant after exhausting the merit of HPCET-2023-24, the remaining seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of 10+2 examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.

The minimum/cut off marks to seek admission to B.Pharmacy degree course on the basis of, HPCET-2023-24 and 10+2 shall be as follows:

Industrial Tour & Training:

Every candidate shall undergo practical training in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing House / Approved Hospital labs for a period of not less than one hundred and fifty hours to be covered in not less than 45 days after completing VI sem (for PCI syllabus) or  III rd sem and VI/VII sem (for CBCS). Candidate should submit two copies of the training report duly certificated by the authorities of the training center in which he/she has undergone training, duly accepted and certified by the Head of the Department. Candidates studying in final semester of the course shall visit several pharmaceutical manufacturing houses as a supplement to their academic training and submit a report to the satisfaction of the Head of Department where he / she has studied.

Admission Procedure

It is a confusing times for many a student when it comes to joining a course and the fear of whether they will be able to join the desired stream. We at Himachal Institute of Pharmacy understand this and are constantly adding easier and more accessible features through which we can make the process convenient for all of us who are involved.

Students can choose to apply online mode by logging into HPTU Site (http://www.himtu.ac.in), where they need to fill the HPTU entrance test (Applications are online in the month of Jan/ Feb every year) and appear for test. Or through offline mode by filling the form (Application form) and submit the same in the institution office.  We will process your applications for HPTU entrance test.
